We are looking for a Maintenance Operative to ensure that duties relating to regulatory compliance and the upkeep of the home are undertaken in accordance with our ‘Homes Maintenance Operative Guide to Mandatory Duties and Supplementary Tasks’, working in line with the B&M Rose Model.

Home Maintenance Operative Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that all fire safety, water safety, call bell and property checks are carried out in line with company policies and guidelines;
- Basic home maintenance
- Moving of home furniture and equipment;
- Ensure company vehicle checks and maintenance is carried out as per company policy and guidelines;
- Maintaining flower beds, borders and hanging baskets and watering as well as cutting the grass when necessary;
- Cleaning drives and pathways to keep clean and tidy from leaves and other items as well as gritting and snow clearance during inclement weather and cleaning of low-level gutters;
- Maintenance of outdoor furniture;
- Maintenance of water features, where present;
- Ensure utility meter readings are taken when requested; and
- To deal with the waste disposal in accordance with health & safety and infection control procedures.
- To work in line with the Company’s culture and ethos promoting Commitment, Connection and Compassion within daily duties.
Skills, Characteristics and Experience
Essential
•To hold a clean full UK driving licence
•To provide own basic tools.
•Clear understanding of your responsibility with Health & Safety and COSHH policies.
•Effective communication within the team.
•Ability to work under pressure and to be a team player.
•To uphold confidentiality at all times.
•A friendly and approachable manner and to maintain the privacy and dignity of each resident.
•Flexibility within working hours to include weekend and varied shifts.
•IT know-how to record regulatory checks and tasks on our new digital compliance platform – Radar.
Desirable
- Previous experience in property maintenance & gardening.
- An understanding of building services including plumbing, electrics, general maintenance etc.
- Any relevant qualifications or previous training.
- A desire to develop within the role.
