Night care assistants at B&M Care make sure that our excellent standards of care carry on seamlessly from the day into the night. You will help with all aspects of personal care for residents, including helping residents get ready for bed and responding to needs or emergencies throughout the night. The safety and security of the home across the night will also be a core responsibility.
What makes a great night care assistant?
Independence and initiative. Working a care assistant night shift means efficiently and independently managing tasks and care responsibilities, when there are often less people about for support. We want people who take initiative to proactively address issues to make sure there is a seamless transition for residents from day to night in the homes and ensure smooth operation of the night shift.
Compassion and empathy. Some residents may find nights challenging, whether it’s due to loneliness, ill health or confusion about their changing environment. We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares for people, who can build trust and rapport with residents to create a physically and emotionally safe environment for them overnight.
Vigilance and alertness. Our night care assistants play a vital role in keeping our residents comfortable, safe and secure overnight. Staying attentive and aware throughout your night shift is essential. We need carers to conduct regular checks, monitor residents conditions and respond promptly to any needs or emergencies that arise.
