Care Home Domestic Assistant Jobs

We are seeking a Domestic Assistant to maintain our high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. You will ensure the appearance of the home, aiding in the quality of care and lifestyle of the residents. Cleaning allocated rooms while being mindful of the home’s presentation.

Domestic Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

  • To be directly responsible to the Manager or Housekeeper
  • To clean allocated rooms including furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment.
  • To uphold high standards of cleanliness, being mindful of the homes presentation.
  • Where applicable to assist with bed making.
  • To work in line with the Company’s culture and ethos promoting Commitment, Connection
    and Compassion within daily duties.
  • To be aware of Health & Safety and COSHH policies and procedures.
  • To clean sanitary and other equipment, in line with infection control policies.
  • To report immediately any defects of equipment or fittings that require maintenance or
    cannot be kept to standard through normal cleaning products.
  • To assist in the bed making when necessary.
  • To deal with the waste bags in accordance with health & safety and infection control
    procedures.
  • To attend all training sessions as required.
  • Ability to be flexible with working hours.
  • Support the housekeeper with stock control
  • Ability to work with a routine and adapt to changes that may arise in the home.

Skills, Characteristics and Experience

Essential
  • Clear understanding of your responsibility with Health & Safety and COSHH policies.
  • Effective communication within the team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to be a team player.
  • To uphold confidentiality at all times.
  • To maintain the privacy and dignity of each resident.
  • Flexibility within working hours to include weekend and varied shifts.
Desirable
  • A desire to develop within the role.
