Your Role

JOB DESCRIPTION

B&M Care Head Office in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a Building Purchase Ledger Senior Administrator to oversee the buildings purchase ledger team and administering the purchasing of materials and services relating to the construction of new care homes and maintenance of existing homes and properties.

The successful applicant will be part of a 3 person payments team and in due course will lead this team and be responsible for the outputs from this department.

Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• The raising and processing of invoices;
• Bank reconciliations;
VAT Reconciliations and quarterly on-line returns;
• Monthly cheque runs;
• Filing paid invoices;
• Raising cash book journals;
• Assisting with the completion of National Statistic questionnaires;
• Reconciling supplier statements;
• Administering the portfolio of lease properties and invoicing tenants;
• Managing utility bills across the company; and
• Overseeing sub-contractor payments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

About you

Essential attributes:

  • Previous experience of working within the care sector would be useful but not essential.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems, such as Opera, Pegasus CIS payment software, MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Good management and administrative skills
  • Ability to review our payment processing systems to ensure they operate as efficiently as possible and are fit for purpose in the medium to long term.

Desirable attributes:

  • Ability to communicate well, both written and verbally.
  • A pro-active individual who is able to work within a team, as well as self-supervising.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Interest in development and learning new skills.
  • A confidential approach to work.
